Part-Time Spanish Speaking Entrepreneurship Trainer (New York)

Centro Community Partners is looking for a passionate, driven and empathetic individual to facilitate Centro’s 9-week Basic Entrepreneurship Program (BEP) in Spanish. The BEP takes participants through an engaging and thought provoking workshop series that utilizes cutting-edge training methodologies and mobile technology to help them start or grow their own business.

The Entrepreneurship Trainer will be responsible for teaching cohorts of 10 to 15 participants, explaining complex business concepts in simple terms, focusing on activity-based instruction, facilitating empowering activities and helping participants refine business concepts into an executable business plan.

The Entrepreneurship Trainer will receive up to 10 hours of entrepreneurship workshop management training from Centro and will be required to allocate 8-12 hours per week, including 3 hours per week of workshop facilitation from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in business or equivalent experience

  • Experience teaching or facilitating workshops

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ability to empathize with people from diverse backgrounds

  • Fluent communication skills in Spanish and English

  • Process oriented mindset

  • Experience starting/owning your own business is a huge plus!

  • Actively involved in your community and committed to the development of underserved populations


  • Workshop Prep and Facilitation

    • Prepare lesson materials and classrooms for workshops

    • Lead the facilitation of workshops

    • Schedule and reserve space for graduation and final presentations

  • Program Management & Administration

    • Manage venue logistics before every workshop

    • Manage communications with entrepreneurs, guest speakers and graduation guests

    • Provide regular progress reports and conduct check-in meetings with Centro’s Program Manager

    • Process program participant applications and collect program fees (if applicable)

  • 1:1 Advise/Coaching

    • Conduct at least one 1-on-1 meeting with each entrepreneur outside of the workshops

    • Review business plans created by entrepreneur and provide feedback

  • Reporting & Impact Evaluation

    • Administer pre and post-program surveys to participants

    • Conduct impact evaluation six months after the program has complete and prepare a report for the Program Manager

  • Recruiting/Marketing

    • Lead promotion and recruiting efforts for filling workshops

    • Reach out to organizations in Centro’s and your own community (in-person, e-mail and phone calls) for recruiting and marketing purposes

    • Attend industry and community events in and around New York

    • Conduct preliminary interviews of program applicants to gauge commitment and fit for workshops


  • Salary is negotiable and is paid per cohort basis
