Marketing & Communications Manager

We’re looking for a Marketing & Communications Manager to play a key role in the growth of Centro. The Marketing & Communications Manager will focus on co-creating the organization’s marketing strategy with the Chief Operations Officer, and developing it in partnership with the Executive Team.

About Centro: As a 501c3 non-profit organization, Centro Community Partners (Centro) builds thriving communities by providing underserved, low-income entrepreneurs with entrepreneurship education, one-on-one business advising, mentorship, and access to capital.

About the Position: The position will be responsible for creating and implementing our annual marketing plan, designed to recruit for Centro’s entrepreneurship programs, market the Centro Business Planning App and build the organization’s brand awareness. The position will also support the Development Team with their fundraising projects, events and goals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong digital marketing background and experience creating impactful online marketing campaigns through web, email marketing, social media and print. The position will also be responsible for evaluating the performance of the marketing campaigns and iterating creatively to deliver on the organization’s strategic marketing goals. As such, we are seeking for a strategic thinker, a hands-on creative, an excellent writer, and a successful project manager with star collaboration skills who wants to grow with us. You will be joining a dynamic and proactive team passionate about helping low-income, minority, and women entrepreneurs start and grow small businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Co-create the organization’s marketing strategy.

  • Develop the organization’s annual marketing plan to increase program participation from Centro’s client target audience, downloads/usage of the Centro Business Planning App, deepen the connection and engagement of the community of entrepreneurs, and build Centro’s brand awareness.

  • Produce digital and printed marketing collateral (, social media posts, presentations, newsletters, postcards, reports, etc. s, s) to educate and promote Centro’s value proposition.

  • Manage our website, our email marketing and social media accounts.

  • Create and manage our paid ads campaigns and grants.

  • Create and implement metrics to track effectiveness of all marketing campaigns while looking for opportunities to optimize and develop further.

  • Act as brand guardian across channels and platforms, making sure that all communications are in alignment with our identity.

  • Collaborate with cross functional team members to ensure that internal and external communications are maintaining consistency and effectiveness.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with with external marketing partners (i.e. Google Ads Consultant).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 5+ years of experience in Marketing/Communications.

  • Hands on experience developing campaigns and promotions in the nonprofit sector.

  • Proven ability to create messaging and content for multiple platforms and audiences.

  • Experience with content development, website design, and design of marketing collateral.

  • Experience with the following platforms: Squarespace, Mailchimp, Canva, and Google Suite.

  • Creativity and superior attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven success in a fast-paced environment, working with a team and individually.

  • Non-profit experience and/or experience in our field.

  • Bilingual (Spanish).

  • Experience with video production and editing and graphic design with Canva, Photoshop, or similar tools.
